Job summary

Terradyne Engineering is seeking a Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation. You'll troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform routine maintenance, and document repairs with precision.

You should bring 2 years' experience, diesel tech training, and a knack for reading schematics; heavy machinery experience is a plus. This is a hands-on outdoor role with growth through certification support and competitive pay.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience as a mechanic or technician.
  • Trade School in Diesel Tech, Apprentice Program or military experience preferred.
  • Certified diesel mechanic with heavy machinery experience is desired.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosis and Repair: Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify mechanical issues; use diagnostic tools to determine causes; repair engines, transmissions, brakes, and other systems; replace damaged parts and weld as needed.
  • Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks; ensure work adheres to manufacturer specs and safety standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used; provide detailed condition reports.
  • Customer Service: Communicate with customers to explain issues and maintenance needs; provide estimates for repairs.
  • Safety: Follow all safety protocols; keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Collaboration: Participate in training; stay current with new technologies and repair techniques.

Job Responsibilities

Job Skills & Requirements
  • Two (2) years of experience as a mechanic or technician.
  • Trade School in Diesel Tech, Apprentice Program or military experience preferred. Certified diesel mechanic with heavy machinery experience is desired.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.
  • Love and enjoy working outdoors.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Always adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical procedures
  • Must be a self-starter, reliable, and come with a good and humble attitude
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling.
  • Exposure to noise, fumes, and varying temperatures.
  • Mechanical aptitude; robust problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills such as Word and Excel.
  • Basic Math knowledge.
  • Clean MVR, background, and drug screening.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Tasks assigned by the supervisor or manager
