C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic for its local operations in Florida.

The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel and hydraulic heavy equipment, welding and fabrication, and diagnosing a range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Qualified candidates have 2+ years in heavy equipment mechanics, a Florida driver’s license, and can work days, nights, or weekends. Drug testing and background checks are performed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in heavy equipment mechanics (diesel & hydraulics).
• Must have a Florida driver's license; CDL preferred.
• Must meet company MVR requirements.
• Ability to work days, nights or weekends as needed.
• Drug testing and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Diagnose and correct mechanical problems; weld and fabricate as needed.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic adjustments on gasoline/diesel equipment.
• Diagnose electrical/hydraulic/engine/transmission systems and apply proper fixes.
• Use tools and shop equipment; maintain safe, clean work environment.
• Provide updates to Shop Foreman and document repairs using Fleetio, Fleetwatcher, Insite and JPro.
• Complete required record keeping and reporting; other duties as assigned.

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is a growing road construction company. Our company is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our local operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment
• Diagnose and correct mechanical problems
• Welding and fabricating
• Ability to perform a variety of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic adjustments and repairs on gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and heavy construction equipment
• Ability to diagnose problems and make the appropriate adjustments, repairs, or replacements to electrical, hydraulic, engine, transmission, drive train, and mechanical systems
• Ability to use a variety of tools including but not limited to: personal tools, common shop hand tools, hoist or crane equipment, grinders, welders, power tools, precision mechanic tools
• Maintain a clean work environment and follow safe practices and procedures
• Provide updates to Shop Foreman on all repairs and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Complete required record keeping and reporting utilizing company software including Fleetio, Fleetwatcher, Insite and JPro
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed
• Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid Florida driver's license; CDL preferred
