Job summary

A growing road construction company in Florida is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment. The role requires at least 2 years of experience in heavy equipment mechanics, particularly in diesel and hydraulics. Qualifications

• Must be able to meet MVR requirements and have a valid Florida driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Employer conducts drug testing and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Diagnose and correct mechanical issues.
• Communicate effectively with the Shop Foreman regarding repairs.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic adjustments and repairs on gasoline and diesel-powered equipment.
• Diagnose systems and determine necessary repairs or replacements.
• Use tools and equipment including hoists, grinders, welders, and power tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and document repairs.

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is a growing road construction company. Our company is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our local operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment
• Diagnose and correct mechanical problems
• Welding and fabricating
• Ability to perform a variety of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic adjustments and repairs on gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and heavy construction equipment
• Ability to diagnose problems and make the appropriate adjustments, repairs, or replacements to electrical, hydraulic, engine, transmission, drive train, and mechanical systems
• Ability to use a variety of tools including but not limited to: personal tools, common shop hand tools, hoist or crane equipment, grinders, welders, power tools, precision mechanic tools
• Maintain a clean work environment and follow safe practices and procedures
• Provide updates to Shop Foreman on all repairs and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Complete required record keeping and reporting utilizing company software including Fleetio, Fleetwatcher, Insite and JPro
• Other duties as assigned
