Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking a Heavy Equipment Crane Operator to safely operate hydraulic grapple or magnetic cranes, sorting and loading scrap metal for processing. The role involves outdoor work in varying weather and strict adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading containers, inspecting equipment daily, and ensuring loads stay within lifting capacities. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus; background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
• Background check, drug screen and physical required.
• Experience operating Caterpillar, Sennebogen or grapple equipment.
• Previous hydraulic crane experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Ability to follow written, oral or diagrammatic instructions.
• Ability to learn new tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Sort scrap and debris for processing.

• Load and unload containers and trailers and move scrap around the area.
• Provide a safe environment for employees, customers and visitors.

We are looking for hard-working, reliable and safety minded individuals to join our team as a Heavy Equipment Crane Operator. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient Operator of a hydraulic grapple or magnetic crane to lift, sort, load or unload scrap metal and debris in preparation for processing operations, also load and unload containers and trailers and lift and move heavy scrap metal of varying sizes and weights around the work area.This position will work outside in varying weather conditions, and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.SA Recycling offers:

Responsibilities Of a Material Handler

• Basic sorting of scrap, as well as metal and debris in preparation for processing.
• Operation of hydraulic grapple or magnetic crane to lift, sort, load or unload scrap metal and debris in preparation for processing operations
• load and unload containers and trailers and lift and move scrap metal of varying sizes and weights around the work area.
• Provide a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors.
• Operate a hydraulic grapple or magnetic crane to lift, sort, load or unload scrap metal and debris in preparation for processing.
• Perform daily inspections on equipment reporting any defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
• Determine load weights and verify against lifting capacities to prevent overloads and dangerous situations.
• Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, & SA Recycling safety, health, & environmental rules, regulations, policies, & procedures.

Qualifications Of a Material Handler

• High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
• Must pass a required Background, Drug screen and physical.
• Must have Experience in the operation of a Caterpillar, Sennebogen, Grapple.
• Previous Hydraulic Crane experience preferred.
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
• Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
• Ability to learn new tasks as assigned required.
