Job summary

Georgia Army National Guard is seeking a Surface Maintenance Repairer to perform limited diagnosis and routine repairs on heavy-duty vehicles at the Surface Maintenance Facility in Jackson, Georgia. The role requires experience with hand and power tools, basic test equipment, and reading manuals and diagrams.

This is a full-time, excepted permanent dual status position requiring Georgia Army National Guard membership.

Qualifications

• 12 months specialized experience using common hand and power tools and test and measurement devices to make mechanical repairs.
• Experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing a variety of parts, components, and accessories.
• Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to vehicles; skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments.
• Reading and interpreting parts lists, manufacturers' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform limited diagnosis and routine repairs on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Carry out PMCS and ensure proper servicing of vehicles and equipment.
• Perform minor body and fender, or other metal repairs as needed.
• Work in remote locations and use basic test equipment and tools.
