Summary
Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co. is one of the largest John Deere construction equipment dealers in North America. Founded in 1982, we now have 28 dealerships throughout Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. We are currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Field Lube Technician. The Heavy Equipment Field Lube Technician is responsible for performing oil and fluid changes, filter replacement, lubricating fittings, and equipment. Additionally, the technician will complete inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and earthmoving equipment. This position requires cooperation with and adherence to all company, state, and federal safety guidelines and requirements.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment, including remote jobsites, free of spills, tools, etc., to eliminate hazards.
- Follow incident reporting and safety guidelines.
- Communicate safety concerns.
- Properly utilize all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Safely operate heavy equipment and vehicles with safety restraints.
- Travel to customer sites for inspections and maintenance.
- Conduct oil sampling, fluid and filter changes, lubricate fittings as recommended.
- Dispose of used oil and filters according to EPA guidelines.
- Communicate equipment issues professionally.
- Order replacement parts.
- Maintain parts and tool inventory.
- Ensure tools and lube truck are in safe, organized, and good condition.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Use computer programs effectively.
- Complete maintenance records and reports accurately.
- Record service hours, inspections, and mileage.
- Communicate effectively internally and with customers.
Work Environment
- Work near heavy earthmoving equipment.
- Exposed to weather conditions and various surfaces.
- Conditions may vary from shop to rural settings.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, kneel, climb, and lift up to 75 lbs.
Requirements and Experience
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Clean motor vehicle record.
- Fit for duty, DOT medical certificate, pass drug screening.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of heavy equipment servicing experience.
- Basic mechanical skills.
