Are you enthusiastic about hospitality, people, and beautiful places? By working at Yellowstone National Park, you will get all three! As a Heavy Equipment Laborer you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day maintenance functions that keep the park running smoothly.

Job Summary:

The Engineering/Maintenance team is responsible for opening properties prior to guest arrival, maintenance and repair during the season and closing properties at the end of the season. Heavy Equipment Laborers will assist with snow removal, operating electric and hand tools. Heavy Equipment Laborers do not require Class A CDL.

The Details:
Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: June 2025 - October/November 2025
Pay: $20.25 - 22.50/hour
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Assists Crew with parkwide domestic utility repairs (water, sewer, electrical) as needed, with shoveling, raking, tamping, etc.
  • Assists Crew with parkwide placing concrete and asphalt patching.
  • Assists Crew with parkwide bumper log placement and staining as needed.
  • Assists Crew with parkwide snow pole placement for future snow removal.
  • Assists Crew with parkwide snow removal, including heavy shoveling and snow blower usage.
  • Responsible for working safe and complying with all current related codes and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • General knowledge of placing concrete and asphalt patching.
  • General knowledge of log work, i.e. placement and staining of bumper logs.
  • General knowledge of domestic utility repair work, i.e. water, sewer, electrical.
  • Must be able to read, understand, interpret and comply with all Xanterra’s company policies and procedures.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a DOT physical.

Physical Requirements include:

  • Must possess physical stamina to withstand heavy labor related to work in an outside environment.
  • Must be capable of lifting and moving objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk long distances over uneven terrain and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, and crawl for extended periods of time as required.
