Akima Global Logistics seeks a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for Fort Hood, TX. The role inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains Army tactical and heavy equipment at a contractor-managed turn-in site, ensuring serviceability, safety, and compliance with Army manuals and contract requirements.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose faults in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, document work, and coordinate with supply staff during turn-in events. U.S.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in heavy equipment or military maintenance preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience as a mechanic on military or heavy equipment.
• Prior U.S. Army or contractor experience with tactical vehicles, combat systems, or MHE strongly preferred.
• U.S. Army maintenance standards and technical manuals.
• Preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS).
• Army logistics systems such as GCSS-Army.

Responsabilidades

• Inspect heavy equipment during the turn-in process.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance per Army TMs, DA PAM 750-8, AR 750-1.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance during service.
• Repair and adjust engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulics.
• Service and maintain MHE (forklifts, cranes, loaders, rough terrain equipment).
• Document inspections, maintenance, and repairs using Army forms and GCSS-Army.
