Job summary

Our World Energy is seeking a Heavy Equipment/Fleet Mechanic in Phoenix to keep trucks, trailers, and field equipment in peak condition. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, and respond to on-site breakdowns to minimize downtime for crews delivering solar projects.

Join a fast-moving field ops team with strong safety standards, DOT compliance, and opportunities for growth. Must have 5+ years in automotive/diesel repair; ASE preferred; CDL not required but helpful.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience as an automotive or diesel mechanic (fleet or construction equipment preferred).
ASE Certifications strongly preferred but not mandatory.
Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
Proven ability to diagnose and repair trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
Welding and fabrication skills required.
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize urgent repairs.

Responsibilities

Fleet Maintenance & Repair – Inspect, service, and repair company trucks (gasoline/diesel), including brakes, suspensions, engines, and electrical systems.
Trailer & Equipment Maintenance – Service and repair enclosed trailers, flatbeds, hauling units, wiring, axles, hitches, and braking systems; maintain solar construction equipment.
Preventative Maintenance Program – Create and follow PM schedules for all vehicles and equipment, document inspections, repairs, and part replacements.
Emergency & Field Support – Respond to vehicle/equipment breakdowns at job sites; perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and coordinate towing/recovery as needed.
Parts & Inventory Management – Source and order cost-effective parts; maintain an organized inventory of parts, consumables, and shop tools.
Compliance & Safety – Ensure all work complies with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards; maintain safe, clean, and compliant maintenance facilities.
