Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; diesel or heavy equipment program preferred.
• 3–5 years of hands-on diesel/heavy equipment mechanic experience.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrains.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and interpreting manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Experience with cranes, boom trucks, forklifts, generators, and welding equipment.
• Valid driver’s license; Class A CDL preferred or willing to obtain.
• Safety-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Able to work independently or in teams; good communication.
• Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs; willing to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, and electrical on cranes, trucks, and heavy equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections per DOT and OSHA standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools.
• Conduct field repairs and service calls to minimize downtime.
• Maintain service logs, repair records, and parts usage reports.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with supervisors and field managers.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area per safety procedures.
• Assist with crane/heavy equipment inspection, setup, and teardown.
• Provide guidance to other maintenance personnel as needed.
