Job summary

LeoTerra Siteworks in Kernersville, NC is seeking a Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain company vehicles, heavy equipment, trailers, and small equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. The role minimizes downtime and keeps machinery field-ready.

The ideal candidate will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues, complete repairs promptly, and maintain accurate service records while adhering to safety policies and site standards.

Qualifications

• Experience working on heavy equipment, diesel engines, and construction equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues independently.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and initiative.
• Basic computer and documentation skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and small equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues.
• Complete repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify potential equipment failures.
• Perform welding and fabrication work as needed.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Communicate equipment issues and repair timelines with supervisors and operators.
• Ensure equipment is properly cleaned, fueled, and ready for use.
• Respond to field service calls when necessary.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and work areas.
• Assist with inventory and organization of tools, parts, and supplies.
• Operate company vehicles and equipment safely.

Position Summary

• Ability to work in various weather conditions and shop environments
