JDH Infrastructure Group in Plainfield, IN is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to repair and maintain a wide range of equipment in the shop and in the field. You should be proficient with diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, and capable of working independently.

The role involves diagnostic work on excavators, dozers, backhoes, and trucks, with on-call emergency repairs on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

Job Overview

We’re looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic who can handle repairs and maintenance on a wide range of equipment in both the shop and the field. If you know your way around diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems and you can work independently we want to talk to you.

You’ll work on equipment such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, skid steers, mini-excavators, dump trucks, semi tractor trailers, heavy and light trucks, trailers, and small gas engine equipment. Tools and uniforms are provided.

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and trucks
• Work independently in the shop and out in the field

What You Need to Know

• Ability to explain issues clearly verbally and in writing

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• CDL Class A is a plus
• Ability to read service manuals, prints, and technical drawings
• Basic computer skills for reports and documentation
• Willing to travel when needed

• Must have reliable transportation
• Flexible availability required, including:
  • Paid on-call rotation (every 3rd week)
