Job summary

Blackstar Operating seeks a Gener Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, service, and prepare rental equipment for safe, reliable operation—covering telehandlers, manlifts, light towers, generators, and air compressors.

You will perform PMs, diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel issues, inspect gear for safety, and maintain accurate records. Field and shop work, OSHA training, and a valid driver’s license are required to ensure uptime and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in maintaining heavy equipment or oilfield equipment.
• Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• OSHA safety training completed.
• HVAC knowledge referenced in requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services according to manufacturer recommendations and company schedules.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, and fuel system issues.
• Inspect incoming rental equipment for damage, wear, and operational readiness.
• Prepare equipment for rental by ensuring it is clean, fully functional, and compliant with safety standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures in the shop and occasionally in the field.
• Repair equipment: Telehandlers, Manlifts, Light towers, Portable generators, Air compressors.
• Complete accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection reports.
• Ensure repairs comply with OSHA, manufacturer, and company safety requirements.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency service calls as required.
• Assist with equipment loading, unloading, and yard organization.
