DBA Construction in Arizona is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to keep our fleet safe, reliable, and ready for the job. This Diesel Mechanic role supports our crews by repairing and maintaining our yellow iron and related construction equipment.

Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing major systems, diagnosing issues, and performing routine service with a focus on safety and efficiency in a fast-paced shop environment. Shift patterns may vary with early morning or afternoon starts.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a heavy diesel/truck mechanic (Diesel Technician / Heavy Equipment Technician).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and detail focus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced shop and follow safety procedures.

• Inspect and repair brakes, steering, transmissions, engines, and related systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using tools like motor analyzers and handheld computers.
• Perform routine service (oil changes, batteries, lubrication) and preventative maintenance.
• Work on CAT earthmoving equipment and other heavy equipment; complete shop and limited field repairs.
• Use shop equipment and tools (pressure gauges, pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, hoists, jacks) following safety procedures.

Daily Work Flow

As a Heavy Equipment/Diesel Truck Mechanic, you’ll open the shift by reviewing the equipment list and confirming priorities with Shop Manager. You may stay in the shop for scheduled service, or pivot fast when a piece of yellow iron goes down and needs a quick fix in the yard or out in the field as a Field Service Technician or Mobile Equipment Mechanic. Your day is a mix of checks, troubleshooting, and repairs, with notes logged so the next crew knows status and next steps. Expect Monday–Friday hours, with early morning or mid-day/afternoon shifts based on operational needs. The focus stays the same: safe work, clear communication, and equipment back on the job without delays.
