Qualifications

• Four years of full-time paid experience as a journey level mechanic specializing in heavy equipment, diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
• Recognized apprenticeship program for repair of heavy equipment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CDL Class A to be obtained within six months of hire; Hazmat endorsement required to run a lube truck.
• Basic mechanic's tools are required at the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Perform journey level mechanical work repairing and maintaining medium and heavy trucks and construction equipment.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and air brakes.
• Maintain maintenance and parts records using computer systems and work orders; provide training to other mechanics as needed.
