Job summary

Kapp Companies is hiring a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic in Utah. You will report to Fleet & Facilities Manager, Project Manager, and Office Management and perform maintenance on construction equipment, trucks, and shop machinery.

Responsibilities include oil changes, fluid checks, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting electrical/hydraulic/diesel systems. On-site work with safety-focused environment and managed by supervision.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ experience as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic.
• CDL-A is preferred, but not required.
• Willingness to obtain CDL-A in the future.
• Obtain a valid Medical Card per DOT standard.
• Safety awareness to identify hazards in the work area.
• Ability to stand, bend, shovel and perform manual labor.
• Comfortable with exposure to various weather conditions.

• Maintain and repair construction equipment, trucks, and non-mobile equipment on site and in the shop.
• Perform oil changes, greasing, fluid checks and filter changes.
• Implement preventative maintenance and services.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions, identify issues and plan fixes (electrical, hydraulic, diesel, gasoline).
• Oversee fabrication and welding of miscellaneous parts.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and comply with safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Pay:

$28.00 - $35.00 an hour depending on experience.

Position Summary:

• Report directly to Fleet amp; Facilities Manager, Project Manager, and Office Management daily
• Maintain and repair all types of construction equipment, trucks, and non-mobile equipment on site and in the shop
• Complete various tasks such as oil changes, greasing, adding fluids, and changing filters
• Implement preventative measures and services
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and problems while identifying the issue and incorporating a plan to fix it. Repairs include but are not limited to; electrical, hydraulic systems, diesel, and gasoline engines, etc.
• Oversee fabrication amp; welding of miscellaneous broken parts, gravel boxes, etc.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures
• Other duties as assigned by management

Required Skills and Experience:

• 1-2 relevant years’ experience working as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic
• Valid CDL-A is preferred, but not required
• Willingness to obtain valid CDL-A in the future
• Obtain a valid Medical Card as per DOT standard
• Competency and awareness of surroundings to identify safety hazards
• Ability to stand, bend, shovel, and other miscellaneous manual labor
• Comfortable with exposure to various weather conditions
