Job summary

Dobbs Equipment, LLC is seeking an experienced Track, Service Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment undercarriage in a shop setting. You will work solo or in teams to remove and install tracks, roller frames, rollers, idlers, and sprockets, including repairs on broken link assemblies with a cutting torch.

Advanced knowledge of John Deere undercarriage designs and maintenance is required, with experience on comparable brands considered case-by-case.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (Other duties may be assigned)

• Work alone with a limited amount of supervision.
• Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments.
• Report any additional work required on equipment to the Service Manager, for proper and safe operation by the customer.
• Participate in all training programs as directed by the Service Manager.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Bring to the attention of the Service Manager any shop tools, equipment or vehicle that is not in a serviceable condition or is unsafe to use.
• Always conduct self to present a professional image of the dealership.
• Extensive knowledge of John Deere equipment, specifically Undercarriage, including their designs, repair, and maintenance is required. (Experience with other comparable brand equipment will be considered on a case-by‑case basis.)
• Perform any inspections as required.
• Check and report any shortages and malfunctions to the Service Manager.
• Knowledge and proficiency with current computer software and related hardware are required.
• Ability to remove and install tracks, rollers, idlers, and sprockets is required.
• Ability to operate equipment is required.
• Perform all service tasks as assigned by the Service Manager, Supervisor, or Shop Foreman.
• Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments.
• Report to Service Manager any additional work required to ensure proper operation and safety of equipment.
