The Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic | Field Technician position involves diagnosing and repairing heavy construction equipment in the field. Candidates should have proven experience with heavy machinery, be physically fit, and capable of troubleshooting both in the shop and on job sites. The role requires continuous improvement efforts, efficiency, and teamwork, primarily based in North and West Texas, with travel to various sites as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drive to job sites, operate, and inspect construction equipment to identify repairs needed
• Diagnose faults and interpret schematics, including hydraulic systems
• Discuss issues with supervisors and team members
• Repair, replace, calibrate, and rebuild components
• Test equipment post-repair for proper operation
• Perform routine maintenance such as fluid checks and oil changes
• Complete welding and fabrication tasks as required
• Read manuals, attend training, and stay updated on equipment
• Report damaged or faulty equipment
• Assist in ordering parts and supplies
• Maintain work logs and records
• Operate tools, vehicles, and heavy machinery safely
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience with heavy equipment and asphalt plant machinery
• Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
• Basic welding skills
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License required
• Heavy Equipment Mechanic certification is a plus
• Good communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus
• Adherence to safety regulations and PPE requirements
• Willingness to travel within Texas and Oklahoma

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Stand for extended periods
• Lifting, bending, stooping, and manipulating tools in confined spaces
• Move objects over 50 lbs over long distances
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extended hours and some Saturdays
