Fontaine Modification in Charlotte, NC is seeking skilled welders/fabricators to modify heavy-duty trucks and fabricate components. You will read blueprints, measure and fit parts, and perform MIG welding to exact specs in a safety-conscious shop environment.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous welding, fabrication, metalworking, or industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with MIG welding preferred.
• Ability to read measurements, use precision measuring tools, and interpret basic fabrication drawings or work instructions.
• Familiarity with metal preparation, cutting, grinding, fitting, positioning, and welding practices.
• Ability to recognize weld defects and understand the importance of proper fit-up and preparation.
• Ability to safely operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, attendance, and dependability.
• Willingness to learn Fontaine-specific processes, equipment, and quality standards.
• Ability to work independently when appropriate and collaborate effectively with a production team.
• Welding tests or practical skill assessments may be used to evaluate candidates' qualifications for the position.

Mansioni

• Perform welding and fabrication activities associated with heavy-duty truck modification, including structural components, brackets, supports, mounting systems, and other truck-related assemblies.
• Perform MIG welding and other applicable welding processes based on job requirements, qualifications, and approved procedures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, work instructions, measurements, and production specifications.
• Measure, mark, cut, fit, position, and prepare metal components for welding and assembly.
• Select appropriate materials, tools, equipment, and welding methods for assigned work.
• Produce consistent welds that meet applicable workmanship, strength, fit, and appearance requirements.
• Use hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, grinders, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
• Inspect completed work for weld quality, dimensional accuracy, fit, and conformance to specifications.
