Job summary

TEC Equipment, a leading heavy-duty truck dealer, seeks an experienced technician to perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks. The role includes use of in-house advanced training opportunities at our training centers, one of only three dealer groups in North America with such capability.

Responsibilities include inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and recordkeeping to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of practical experience in commercial 6 & 8 truck classes.
• Proficient in diesel engine repair and diagnosis, cab components, hydraulics, steering and brakes.
• Proficient with diagnostic software and standard shop tools.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and diagnostics to troubleshoot and repair trucks.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as oil and transmission changes and component replacements.
• Troubleshoot with diagnostic software for charging, brakes, suspensions, and A/C.
• Maintain vehicle records of services and repairs.
• Meet shop quality and efficiency standards; keep work area safe and organized.
• Follow safety, EPA regulations, and company policies; participate in ongoing training.
• Verify vehicle performance with test drives and post-repair adjustments.
