Job summary

Meigs Transport is seeking a skilled Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair our fleet of trucks and equipment. You will work with diesel engines, fuel and electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Ideal candidates will have experience on Class 8 trucks, a related technical certificate, and strong communication skills to coordinate with the shop team and drivers.

Qualifications

• High School or Equivalent is required.
• Associate's Degree or technical certificate in automotive or diesel technology, maintenance or repair.
• Prior experience in heavy highway construction is preferred.
• 3-5 years experience working on Class 8 Trucks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fleet of trucks.
• Diagnosing and repairing class 8 trucks (heavy duty).
• Ability to communicate effectively to ensure efficient repairs are made.
• Evaluate truck performance.
• Inspect equipment.
• Report mechanical issues and problems to shop manager.
