Job summary

Eau Claire Truck & Trailer, part of Midwest Star Group, seeks a Heavy-Duty Trailer Technician/Mechanic to join our Eau Claire team. This hands-on role inspects, maintains and repairs commercial trailers and related equipment.

We welcome candidates with trailer or heavy-duty repair experience or a strong mechanical foundation who want to grow their skills. The position offers steady year-round work, competitive pay and a solid benefits package.

Qualifications

• Previous trailer/truck/heavy-duty repair experience preferred.
• Must provide own basic tools.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain commercial trailers.
• Perform brake, suspension and air-system repairs.
• Diagnose and repair lighting and electrical systems.
• Service wheel bearings, axles and related components.
• Perform tire service, repair and replacement.
• Service and repair liftgates and other trailer components.
• Repair trailer floors, roofs, doors and structural components.
• Assist with welding, fabrication and custom repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
• Assist with DOT inspections based on experience/qualification.
• Identify needed repairs and clearly communicate findings.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
• Maintain an organized, safe and clean work area.
• Assist with parts, materials and general shop needs as necessary.
• Support other technicians and shop operations to keep work moving efficiently.
• Occasionally assist with roadside or emergency repairs as needed.
