Description

This is a remote position, working nights, on a three weeks on and three weeks off rotation. Employees typically work a minimum of 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location in Prudhoe Bay. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose:

The Heavy-Duty Shop Oiler position is responsible for oiling and lubricating trucks and equipment in a controlled environment.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Verify and perform any necessary preventive maintenance on all heavy equipment and/or light duty vehicles.
  2. Check and maintain any and all levels of oils, greases and other lubricants in heavy equipment and/or light duty vehicles according to specified procedures and oral instructions.
  3. Inspect equipment belts, hoses and leaks.
  4. Document any necessary maintenance.
  5. Coordinate repairs needed with shop foreman and make minor repairs/adjustments.
  6. Routinely operate Worley/client light and/or medium duty vehicles.
  7. Safely climb ladders of various heights.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of heavy equipment and/or light duty vehicles preventative maintenance.
  2. Knowledge of and experience in lubrication procedures for all types of heavy and light equipment common to heavy construction and oilfield service industries.
  3. Ability to maintain preventative maintenance records.
  4. Ability to work closely with mechanics.
  5. Ability to give and receive oral safety warnings, instructions, and task assignments.
  6. Ability to use hand and power tools.
  7. Ability to read and understand job descriptions, safety/technical manuals and safety/warning signs.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:

  1. Stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination.
  2. Stand for prolonged periods of time.
  3. Drive for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather.
  4. Climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.
  5. Wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.
  6. Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
  7. Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
  8. Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
  9. Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
  10. Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  2. Valid driver’s license and the ability to be covered by Worley's auto insurer.
  3. North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Two (2) years as an oiler in heavy construction or a preventive maintenance shop.
  2. Petrochemical, oilfield, or arctic experience.
