Job summary

Superior Scale, a Precision Point Metrics company, is seeking a Heavy-Duty Scale Technician to install, inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain truck scales and industrial weighing systems across Davie, Florida and surrounding areas.

This field-based role requires strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and software skills, with travel across South Florida and occasional overnight stays. You will work independently, ensure accuracy, and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple service assignments.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • CDL (Class A or B) with Air Brake Endorsement, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Install, calibrate, inspect, maintain, and repair truck scales and weighing systems.
  • Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and software issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Conduct calibrations using certified test weights and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with NIST Handbook 44 and industry standards.
  • Complete service reports, calibration certificates, and maintenance records.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations with customers.
  • Travel regionally within Florida and respond to after-hours calls.

Position Summary

As a Heavy-Duty Scale Technician, you will install, inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain truck scales and industrial weighing systems at customer locations throughout the Davie, Florida area and surrounding markets.

This is a field-based role that combines mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and customer service skills. You will work independently across a variety of industrial environments while representing Superior Scale as a trusted technical expert.

Your work ensures customers receive accurate, compliant, and reliable weighing systems that support critical operational and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • · Install, calibrate, inspect, maintain, and repair truck scales, axle scales, floor scales, and industrial weighing systems.
  • · Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, electronic, and software-related issues.
  • · Perform preventative maintenance to improve system reliability and reduce downtime.
  • · Conduct calibrations using certified test weights and specialized diagnostic equipment.
  • · Ensure all systems comply with NIST Handbook 44 and applicable industry standards.
  • · Complete detailed service reports, calibration certificates, inspection documentation, and maintenance records.
  • · Communicate technical findings, repair recommendations, and project updates clearly with customers.
  • · Safely operate company vehicles, forklifts, skid steers, cranes, and other job-site equipment.
  • · Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicles in proper working condition.
  • · Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety procedures at all times.
  • · Travel throughout the Davie/South Florida area and other parts of Florida as needed to support service, installation, and emergency repair needs.
  • · Respond to occasional after-hours, weekend, or emergency service calls.
Qualifications

  • · Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • · Current CDL (Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement), or willingness to obtain.
  • · Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 lbs.
  • · Comfortable working outdoors in hot, humid, and variable weather conditions.
  • · Willingness to travel regionally throughout Florida with occasional overnight stays.
  • · Basic computer skills for digital service documentation and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • · Experience servicing industrial or commercial weighing systems.
  • · Background in industrial maintenance, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or field service work.
  • · Knowledge of NIST Handbook 44 and commercial scale regulations.
  • · Experience operating forklifts, skid steers, cranes, or similar heavy equipment.
  • · Welding, fabrication, or industrial electrical experience.
  • · Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

Work Environment

This is a field-based position based in Davie, Florida, requiring travel throughout the surrounding South Florida area and, as needed, other parts of Florida. Work is performed at customer sites including ports, manufacturing facilities, trucking terminals, agricultural operations, warehouses, recycling centers, construction sites, and industrial processing plants.
