Job summary

DMT Trucking is seeking a Maintenance Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers. This role ensures safe operation in compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations and involves performing preventative maintenance and complex system repairs.

The position emphasizes thorough inspections, accurate record-keeping, and collaboration with supervisors and drivers to plan and execute repairs on the roadworthy fleet across our Alabama facilities.

Qualifications

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs) and routine maintenance, including oil changes and DOT inspections.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using computer diagnostic equipment.
• Repair and/or replace malfunctioning components or parts, including engines, transmissions, brake systems, steering mechanisms, and suspension systems.
• Conduct safety checks and perform all necessary repairs to ensure vehicles meet DOT standards.
• Communicate repair plans with supervisors, team members, and drivers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with supervisors and drivers to discuss repair plans and vehicle status.
• Complete work orders and maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs.
