Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain, diagnose, and repair medium and heavy-duty transportation equipment including trucks and trailers.

The role emphasizes scheduled preventive maintenance, safety compliance, and accurate record-keeping to support fleet reliability. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and a valid driver’s license with CDL eligibility.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in maintenance and repair of medium/heavy-duty transportation equipment preferred.
• Valid state driver’s license required; Class A CDL or ability to obtain one.
• Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations related to maintenance of transportation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and scheduled preventive maintenance on medium and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Perform reactive maintenance as needed.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and perform corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
• Practice safety awareness in all tasks, including lock-out/tag-out procedures and OSHA standards.
• Collaborate with fleet operations and other departments to ensure equipment readiness and minimize downtime.
• Organize parts, tools, and materials for efficient workflow.
• Operate equipment to move tractor-trailers around the yard and test equipment after repairs.
