Job summary

Interstate Power Systems in Davenport, Iowa is seeking an experienced Engine Rebuild Technician to join our in-shop team. The role focuses on full ground-up rebuilds, in-frame overhauls, and complete engine overhauls on Cummins, Detroit Diesel, and Allison-powered equipment.

This is a shop-based, full-time position emphasizing precision and quality. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, read blueprints and use precision measuring tools, and be able to work independently to

Qualifications

• Experience in diesel engine rebuilding with ground-up rebuilds and in-frame/overhaul work.
• Familiarity with Allison transmissions is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and use precision measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail in a high-precision environment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to lift heavy components.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete engine rebuilds with disassembly, inspection, parts replacement, reassembly, and testing.
• Execute in-frame and full out-of-frame overhauls with accuracy.
• Work on Allison transmissions as needed.
• Follow OEM procedures and service manuals to maintain warranty standards.
• Prepare engines for dyno testing and document all work.
• Maintain a clean, safe rebuild shop and coordinate with service staff.
• Collaborate with advisors and technicians to ensure workflow.
