Job summary
GFL Environmental Inc. in Jacksonville, Illinois, is seeking a diesel truck maintenance technician to operate, repair, rebuild, and maintain Company-owned or leased heavy-duty equipment to keep the fleet safe and ready for daily use.
Starting pay ranges from $26 to $30 per hour, with higher wages possible based on experience and certifications. Two shift options are available: 4am–2pm and 8:30am–6pm, with overtime after 40 hours.
Qualifications
- Experience servicing diesel refuse trucks or heavy duty diesel equipment preferred.
- Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Capable of performing preventative maintenance and repairs to keep fleet ready.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
- Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
- Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.
