Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers in Winter Haven, Florida, is seeking a Service Technician to repair and maintain our customers’ medium and heavy-duty trucks. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and document work to meet dealer and factory standards.

The role requires at least three years of diesel experience, solid English proficiency, and basic computer skills. A CDL is a plus. Nextran offers strong benefits and ample growth opportunities within our network of 30 dealerships.

Qualifications

• Three plus years of diesel mechanic experience.
• ASE or Cummins Engine Repair Certificate is a plus.
• English proficiency is essential for understanding safety protocols, customer interactions, and internal communications.
• Basic computer skills
• Valid CDL License a plus, recommended within 1 year of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnose the cause of the malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Communicates with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Ensures that the vehicle is kept clean. Notifies the service advisor/dispatcher immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns all tools and manuals to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Operates all tools/equipment in a safe manner and reports any safety issues immediately to management.
• Other duties as assigned.
