Truck Centers, Inc. is hiring Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanics for the 2nd shift in Illinois. The role pays $26.56–$39.84 hourly with a sign-on bonus up to $7,500 based on experience.

Shift runs 12:30pm–9pm, with full-time employment and ongoing certification opportunities. We seek technicians skilled in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, HVAC, and electronics. Tools provided on-site; CDL preferred; pre-employment checks required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver's License with ability to meet insurance requirements.
• Class B CDL with air brake endorsement preferred; Class A CDL highly preferred.
• Diesel tech training or 4+ years of medium/heavy-duty truck service experience.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and commitment to quality work.
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
• Must have own tools; company provides specialized tooling on-site.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality repairs per OEM and dealership standards.
• Read repair orders, diagnose, plan procedures, and perform necessary repairs.
• Tackle repairs across engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, HVAC, electronics.
• Document diagnostics and repairs; assist with warranty processing.
• Coordinate with Parts, Shop Foreman, and Service Admin for status updates.
• Conduct checks and road tests to ensure issue is resolved.

Truck Centers, Inc. is growing, and we’re looking for Service Technicians and Certified Diesel Mechanics at all experience levels to join our team. As a Diesel Technician, you play a crucial role in our Service department, helping keep our customers on the road by delivering top-notch repairs and maintenance.

Shift Available:

• This position will work 12:30pm-9pm

We are pleased to offer a sign-on bonus of up to $7,500 based on experience!

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Perform consistent, high-quality work according to OEM, warranty, and dealership standards.
• Read repair orders, observe and listen to vehicle operation, obtain diagnostics information, identify root cause malfunctions, plan work procedures, and perform necessary repairs on a vehicle as authorized.
• Tackle general and major repairs across various truck systems, including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, HVAC, electronics, and more.
• Document your diagnostic findings, repair progress, and completed work thoroughly to keep our customers informed and ensure smooth warranty processing.
• Work closely with the Parts department to verify parts and collaborate with the Shop Foreman and Service Administration team for status updates or assistance.
• Ensure every repair meets quality standards by performing checks and road tests to confirm the issue is resolved.

What We're Looking For:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License with ability to meet insurance requirements is required
• Class B CDL with air brake endorsement preferred; Class A CDL highly preferred
• Certificate from a diesel tech training school or a minimum of 4 years mechanical medium- or heavy-duty truck service experience in a shop setting or military installation
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and commitment to providing quality work
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus
• Candidates must have their own tools; TCI provides specialty and OEM-required tooling for on-site, communal use
• Must participate in apre-employment background checkand drug screen.
