Job summary

Kerry Brothers Truck Repair in Michigan is seeking a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This full-time role offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus and a path to advancement within a growing family-owned shop.

You will diagnose, repair, and service engines, brakes, electrical systems, transmissions, and suspensions while following safety standards. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship or formal training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a heavy-duty mechanic.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose and repair heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosis and Repair: Inspect and diagnose heavy-duty vehicles; perform necessary repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
• Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Use diagnostic tools and manuals to identify root causes and repair solutions.
• Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols and document work accurately.
• Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with team and customers; report findings and recommendations.
