Job summary

Southern Integrated Solutions and Consulting is seeking a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic for on-site work. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and hydraulic/electrical systems on heavy equipment, including CAT machines, while reading schematics and utilizing diagnostics software.

Candidates should have 3+ years of diesel experience, a valid license (CDL a plus), and the ability to work independently or with a team in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic working on heavy equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
  • Experience with CAT equipment strongly preferred (certifications a plus).
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and software (CAT ET or similar).
  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
  • Valid driver’s license required (CDL is a plus).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrain components
  • Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, and generators
  • Inspect equipment to identify mechanical issues and ensure safe operation
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software
  • Perform field service repairs as needed (on-site troubleshooting and breakdown response)
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation of work performed
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and MSHA regulations
  • Work closely with operations and field personnel to minimize equipment downtime

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • Ability to work damp and dark environments
  • Capable of standing, bending, kneeling, and working extended hours as needed
