About the Team

Our Land 121 maintenance team consists of Mechanics and Field Service Representatives that work together to provide maintenance support to the Land 121 Fleet of Vehicles. Reporting to the Team Lead and then through to the National Fleet Manager Land 121, this team forms part of our greater Service Division. About the Role The Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Field Service Representative) is responsible for providing maintenance and advisory services for logistics vehicles, delivering reliable, high quality and timely service support to the customer. The general and generic duties of the Field Service Representative include, but are not limited to: Repairs and Maintenance
  • Working at various sites to conduct, assist and or supervise in diagnosis and repairs on RDA supported vehicles;
  • Documenting work order information in the RDA ERP/ISSDB & customer systems MILIS / SAP;
  • Being the face of the Rheinmetall brand when engaging with customers/stakeholders.
  • Checking and monitoring the repair progress of supported vehicles and associated mission systems; and
  • Checking and resolving requests for warranty settlement topic completeness, accuracy and plausibility.
Maintenance Advisory Services
  • Providing Maintenance Advisory Services as a subject matter expert on Rheinmetall products;
  • Undertaking Acceptance and documentation of technical inquiries from the customer/end user;
  • Performing technical investigations associated with faults or damages of equipment;
  • Preparing reports associated with technical investigations, including technical inspection reports or technical briefs; and
  • Fulfilling other duties and responsibilities that may be required as determined with Line Manager from time to time.

  • Trade qualified Diesel Mechanic (Cert III Min), Preferably Heavy Vehicle Road Transport;
  • Proven experience maintaining a fleet of (light, medium and heavy) trucks, servicing and repairing diesel engine and heavy trucks/equipments and all sub-system components, specifically from European manufacturers;
  • Automotive diagnostic skills, specifically with European manufacturers;
  • CANBUS experience;
  • Conversant with the current Land Materiel Safety Manual and ADF technical regulatory requirements;
  • Willingness to travel interstate and internationally for extended periods;
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance and supervision; and
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
