Summary:
A well-established waste and recycling services provider is looking for experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join their team. This is a full-time, 2nd shift role (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) with a 10% shift differential and competitive pay based on experience. The work is performed indoors in well-maintained shops, and mechanics will primarily work independently on a busy fleet of over 150 trucks.
Responsibilities:
* Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy-duty diesel trucks, with a focus on:
* Engines, brake lines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems
* Suspension, steering, and drivetrain systems
* Air brake repair and maintenance
* Heating and air conditioning systems (HVAC)
* Refuse body systems including hydraulic and electrical components
* Identify and troubleshoot malfunctions using diagnostic tools
* Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work area
* Complete company-provided training programs
* Perform other duties as assigned
* Minimum 5 years of Diesel mechanical experience
* Experience with Peterbilt and Mack trucks preferred; open to other brands such as Volvo
* Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, air brakes, and transmissions
* Must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision
* Aluminum welding experience is a plus but not required
