Job summary

Timberline Construction Group, an Alabama-based civil contractor, seeks an Underground Utilities Foreman to lead water and sewer installation on a travel basis. First project is Sevierville, Tennessee, with potential future assignments nationwide.

You will supervise a 4–6 person crew, perform hands-on field support, read plans, ensure safety, and coordinate with the Superintendent to meet schedule and quality goals. Overtime is paid. CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least five years of field experience as a foreman.
• Ability to read plans and organize crews.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel for project assignments.

Responsibilities

Underground Utilities Foreman - Civil Division

Travel Position | First Project: Sevierville, Tennessee
Pay: $35-$40 per hour, based on experience; overtime paid
Job type: Full-time

Timberline Construction Group is seeking an experienced Underground Utilities Foreman to lead water, sewer, and related utility work. You will supervise a crew of approximately 4-6 people, provide hands-on support in the field, and coordinate daily activities with the project Superintendent.

This is a travel position. Your first project will be in Sevierville, Tennessee, with future assignments based on project needs.

What You'll Do

• Plan and direct underground utility installation, trenching, pipe laying, backfill, and related earthwork.
• Lead the crew in the field and provide hands-on support when needed.
• Coordinate work around existing utilities and ensure installations meet plan, grade, and project requirements.
• Monitor production, quality, and schedule; resolve field issues promptly.
• Coordinate equipment, materials, inspections, and upcoming work with the Superintendent.
• Enforce trench safety and other jobsite safety requirements.
• Complete daily timesheets, progress reports, and as-built documentation.

What You'll Bring

• At least five years of field experience as a foreman, including experience leading underground utility crews.
• Strong knowledge of water and sewer installation, trenching, pipe materials, and utility construction methods.
• Ability to read plans, organize crews, and communicate clearly with the Superintendent and field team.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel for project assignments.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A CDL is preferred.

Schedule: Day shift; approximately 40-60 hours per week. Weekends may be required.
