Job summary

Kiewit in Dallas is seeking an Experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to deliver timely, accurate cost proposals for large-scale infrastructure across the Central United States.

You will apply bid-build, design-build, and EPC methods, perform quantity takeoffs, analyze plans and specs, and work with multi-disciplinary teams to develop competitive, compliant estimates while focusing on constructability and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction experience with civil/heavy civil estimating.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of specifications, bid documents, and field logistics.
• Ability to interpret drawings and develop constructability plans under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop pricing strategies and cost summaries based on documents and site conditions.
• Analyze plans, specs, geotechnical reports, and addenda for scope and risk.
• Conduct jobsite investigations to identify access and haul distances.
• Collaborate with engineers and operations to align estimating with means and methods.
• Evaluate subcontractor quotes for completeness and competitiveness.
• Maintain historical cost databases and unit pricing; support bid strategy sessions.
• Assist with preconstruction reviews and VE proposals; stay current on industry trends.
