Watson Civil Construction, Inc. in Naples, FL is seeking a Project Superintendent to lead field operations on major site infrastructure projects.

You will supervise foremen, manage subcontractors, ensure quality control and enforce safety standards on multiple projects in the region. Primary responsibilities include coordinating with management and engineers, planning schedules, procuring equipment and materials, and maintaining progress and cost reports.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising FDOT projects and crews.
• Broad knowledge of underground utilities, grading, earthwork and roadwork.
• Ability to multi‑task and manage numerous projects simultaneously.
• MOT certified Worksite Traffic Supervisor is preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with field teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget and meet client expectations.
• Plan procedures, start/finish times and staffing for each phase of construction.
• Order tools, equipment and materials to meet work schedules.
• Coordinate with management, engineers, inspectors and suppliers to resolve issues and improve methods.
• Inspect ongoing work for quality and schedule adherence and document progress.
• Supervise safety policies and enforce compliance with site personnel and subcontractors.
• Interview, hire and train site staff; plan and direct work assignments.
• Handle evaluations and disciplinary actions as directed by management.

Watson Civil Construction, Inc. is a heavy/highway contractor working throughout Florida specializing in large site infrastructure, underground, and road work. We are a fast-growing company and are currently looking for a Project Superintendent in the Naples area.

The primary role of the Superintendent will be to lead and manage all field operations on their assigned projects, including but not limited to, supervising foreman, managing subcontractors and vendors, quality control, safety management, and equipment utilization and coordination.

• Previous supervisory experience on FDOT projects
• Knowledgeable of all aspects of construction including underground utilities, grading, earthwork, and roadwork
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• MOT certified Worksite Traffic Supervisor
• Strong leadership and communication skills

Job Description

• Ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the client.
• Evaluates specifications to plan procedures, starting and completion times, and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
• Orders procurement of tools, equipment, and materials to be delivered to conform to work schedules.
• Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
• Collaborates with management, engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
• Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
• Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated.
• Conducts construction activities within federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Enforces all safety policies with foreman, crews, and subcontractors on site.
• Interviews, hires, and trains site employees on job function and safety standards.
• Plans, assigns, and directs work assignments for employees.
• Handles employee evaluations, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions.
• Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate management.
