Overview
The Critical Systems Technician I, HVAC works under the direct supervision of a senior technician and is required to assist in the operations, maintenance, and monitoring of the data center and supporting infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform work in a thorough and neat manner in accordance with industry standards, codes, and laws.
- Assist with and gain experience from preventative maintenance, trouble diagnosis, routine and emergency maintenance and repairs with direct supervision to equipment including but not limited to:
- Air and water-cooled reciprocating chillers
- Centrifugal and screw package chillers
- Natural gas boilers and unit heaters
- Electric duct heaters
- Cooling Towers
- Pneumatic, DDC and Variable Frequency Drive controls
- HVAC air distribution systems, AHU’S, FCU’S, Fans and other devices used in air distribution
- Various types of water pumps used in the HVAC industry
- Responsible for maintaining their assigned equipment in a clean, first class, efficient operating condition
- Strive for continual improvement of technical skills through experience and trade literature
- Exhibit a desire to learn and excel in the HVAC industry
- Required to perform after-hours assignments
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function
Qualifications
- Must be a US citizen
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Knowledge of refrigeration principles
- Working knowledge of basic electricity for HVAC and HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments
- Minimum of 1 year of HVAC service experience required, 2 years preferred
- Valid Driver's License
Required Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software.
Preferred Skills
- EPA refrigerant recovery certification type I and II required, type III preferred
- US citizen and able to obtain security clearance is preferred
