HEAT TREATER I-B SHIFT
Summary

The Heat Treater I is responsible for performing heat treatment operations on various metal parts to alter their physical properties, improving strength, toughness, or ductility. This position follows strict procedures and quality standards while ensuring a safe work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Processes to be ran are the following: Titanium Aging (Draws), Aluminum Age, and Aluminum solution.
  • Perform heat treatment operations such as hardening, stress relieving, and annealing based on blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Set and monitor furnace temperatures to ensure accuracy.
  • Conduct minor furnace repairs, including changing thermocouples and loading baskets or liners.
  • Weigh parts to confirm accurate counts.
  • Follow all company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Report known or suspected nonconformances immediately.
  • Attend all required training and comply with HSE policies.
  • Suggest and implement waste reduction initiatives within the department.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education and/or Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 0-3 years of experience in manufacturing or metal processing preferred
  • Experience in aerospace plating or familiarity with NADCAP standards is a plus.
Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Must be able to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal. Ability to perform basic shop math.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Word Processing; Spreadsheet software; and other applications.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
