Job summary

Assistance Technique Internationale in Monroe, NC is seeking a Heat Treat Operator to heat treat metals to meet customer specifications. The role requires independent work, attention to detail, and the ability to manage furnace operations safely.

Responsibilities include loading furnaces, monitoring temperatures, processing and cooling finished material, and maintaining accurate logs. A high school diploma and furnace experience are preferred, with crane or IME lift familiarity a plus.

Qualifications

• One year of manufacturing or furnace experience.
• High School Diploma / GED.
• Crane or IME lift experience.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve orders using IME and overhead crane.
• Read and interpret mill orders and other written or verbal instructions.
• Prepare orders by spraying metals with a dye developer as required.
• Preheat furnace to specified temperatures.
• Load up to two furnaces with material and monitor the material and temperature during processing.
• Remove treated material from furnace and use specified cooling method (air, water, fan, etc.) to complete the order.
• Cut heat treated samples using an abrasive saw.
• Stage finished material in designated area once the cooling process is completed.
• Move materials from heat treat to next operation and maintain a smooth materials flow.
• Keep up with accurate logs and records.
• Follow and implement all prescribed safety rules and regulations.
