Job summary

Parker Trutec in Ohio seeks a Heat Treat Production Manager to own and lead the department, managing supervisors, coordinators, and operators while ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

You'll drive training, participate in continuous improvement, coordinate with vendors and other plant departments, and oversee budgeting for labor and materials.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, supervise, and direct all production activities with focus on safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Promote and ensure 5S activities are completed for the assigned area.
• Implement and measure training for Production Associates and Team Leaders to foster career development.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and manage improvement projects.
• Organize full-time and contract labor to meet production needs as dictated by the Production Control Chart.
• Enforce policies fairly and motivate staff.
• Participate in Plant Manager-directed meetings (Customer Status, Continuous Improvement, etc.).
• Routinely communicate Production activities to Management and plant team.
• Lead improvement projects.
• Control production fixtures and equipment (inventory, ordering).
• Coordinate with Production Control Department for existing/new customers and production requirements.
• Work with all Plant Departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Identify bottlenecks and follow up on maintenance items.
• Collaborate with Human Resources to hire, coach, and payroll tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Manage budget for labor, overtime, temporary labor, supplies, and chemicals.
• Establish budget for each line for labor, supplies, chemicals.
• Promote and maintain 5S for each line.

Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $100,000.00 Annually

Position Summary:

The Heat Treat Production Manager position requires a professional, organized individual with the ability to take ownership of new projects. This position will manage all Department employees and is responsible for the performance management of Production Team Leaders, Associates, Coordinators, and Operators.

Qualifications (including but are not limited to):

• 2 to 3 years’ experience in heat treat production operation, including supervisory role, process improvements and scheduling.
• Basic understanding of thermal processing equipment, material characteristics, and metallurgical principles.
• Must have good analytical skills; good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have a record of dependability and good attendance.
• Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Adhere to company policies, practices and procedures.

Duties (including but are not limited to):

• Establish the budget for each line assigned for labor, supplies, chemicals, etc.
• Promote, manage, and maintain the 5S for each line in your department.
