Job summary

Vallourec - North America is seeking a Manufacturing/Maintenance Operator in Houston, TX. The role involves setting up and operating heat-treating equipment, determining quenching media, and ensuring parts meet hardness and ductility specifications.

Responsibilities include reading gauges, data entry, following API and OSHA standards, and performing 5S and preventative maintenance. The position requires safety focus and ability to work rotating shifts in an outside environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate equipment such as furnaces and heat-treating machines.
  • Determine quenching media and temperatures to meet part specifications.
  • Enter and validate data manually and using a computer.
  • Adhere to API, quality, OSHA, and departmental policies and specifications.
  • Operate overhead and floor cranes, forklifts, and scissor lifts; work in confined spaces for maintenance.
  • Report discrepancies to the supervisor and participate in 5S and preventive maintenance.

Job description

  • Set up and operate equipment, such as furnaces, Quench, photo eyes, flame-hardening machines, and electronic induction machines that harden, anneal, and heat-treat metal.
  • Determine types and temperatures of quenching media needed to attain specified part hardness, toughness, and ductility, using heat-treating charts and knowledge of methods, equipment, and metals.
  • Reading and understanding gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure equipment is properly running.
  • Adherence to API and quality standards
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Participation in level 1 maintenance, preventative maintenance, and 5S
  • Entering and validating data manually as well as using a computer
  • Adherence to corporate policies, procedures, practices and specifications.
  • Adherence to department policies, procedures, practices and specifications.
  • Adherence to OSHA safety standards, and departmental Lock out Tag out policies
  • Operate overhead, and floor crane
