We are looking for an experienced Heat Treat / Calibration Technician to join our Cal-Cert team, an Accredited Labs Company.

As a Heat Treat Technician, you will be responsible for the calibration, repair, and servicing of Heat treat equipment (furnaces, ovens, temperature/humidity chambers), Hardness testing equipment (Rockwell, Brinnel, Knoop and Vickers), and Force testing equipment (Tensile testers, Creep and stress rupture machines, extensometers) at our customer locations. We travel primarily in the Portland metro area but travel throughout the Northwest as needed to support our customer's needs. Overnight travel is required.

The ideal candidate has the ability to troubleshoot digital and computerized controllers, with a solid understanding of PID settings and motor control systems, perform thermocouple calibrations, and conducting temperature uniformity surveys in compliance with AMS2750 standards.

Location: On-site at various customer sites in Portland, OR and surrounding areas. Overnight project travel throughout the Northwest will be required for this role.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties in accordance with ISO 17025
  • Complete accurate and timely calibrations on customer sites
  • Perform calibration, performance checks and repair and maintenance on a wide variety of Instruments in accordance with established procedures and standards
  • Operate, maintain, and adjustment of calibration test equipment
  • Heat treat equipment (furnaces, ovens, temperature/humidity chambers)
  • Hardness testing equipment (Rockwell, Brinell, Knoop, and Vickers)
  • Force testing equipment (tensile testers, creep and stress rupture machines, extensometers)
  • Other hand tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators)
  • Continually review all work processes, calibration and test results for accuracy and completeness
  • Working directly with client with effective communication to provide updates and answer questions
  • Ensure all calibration complies with test and operation procedures and with industry regulations and quality standards
  • Ensure that all calibration and tests are conducted safely and in compliance with established safety standards
  • Prepare and maintain accurate calibration records and documentation, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date


Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Calibration Experience in heat treat
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Ability and willingness to travel to customers' locations in the Portland, OR area
  • Ability and willingness to do overnight out of state travel routinely, Monday- Friday. : 75% of the time
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in high-temperature environments
  • Basic knowledge of AMS2750 and thermocouple calibration procedures
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for electronic and computerized control systems
  • Professional demeanor and strong communication skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Self-Motivated with proven ability to work independently in the field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • If a fleet vehicle is assigned to you, you are required to store the company vehicle at your residence safely
  • Knowledge and experience with Electrical, Physical, and/or Mechanical Calibration of equipment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Electronics, other Technical Fields, or equivalent combination of trade school and field experience.
  • Technical Degree or Certificate
  • Experience with IndySoft
