RWJBarnabas Health’s Northern Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery seeks a Heart Transplant & Cardiothoracic Surgeon for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC). The role focuses on heart transplantation, donor procurement, and management of LVAD/RVAD/ECMO, with leadership in the Heart Failure and Transplant Program.

The ideal candidate is fellowship-trained in cardiothoracic surgery with expertise in heart transplantation, VADs, and complex cardiac surgery, joining a large integrated NJ

Qualifications

• Fellowship-trained in cardiothoracic surgery with specific expertise in heart transplantation, VADs, and complex cardiac surgery.
• Will perform heart transplantations, donor procurement, and manage MCS (LVAD/RVAD/ECMO).
• Support system growth by expanding advanced cardiac surgical services across RWJBH Northern affiliates.

Responsibilities

• Perform heart transplantations.
• Participate in donor procurement.
• Manage temporary and durable MCS (LVAD/RVAD/ECMO).
• Lead operative teams in heart transplantation.
