Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group in Boise, Idaho, is seeking an Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join a 21+ provider cardiovascular team within the Saint Alphonsus Health System.

This role offers traditional M-F clinic hours, call coverage, and opportunities for telemedicine and outreach across SAMG facilities. The Heart Institute provides LVAD, EP, and comprehensive heart failure services within a robust program.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required and board certification in heart failure within 1 year of employment.
• Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Heart Failure Fellowship.
• Unrestricted medical license in Idaho and Oregon to practice medicine in all its phases.
• Obtain granting of privileges at SAMG Boise and affiliated hospitals as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced heart failure care within a multidisciplinary cardiovascular team.
• Share call duties and clinic coverage as part of a traditional M-F schedule.
• Collaborate with Saint Alphonsus Heart Institute across services including telemedicine and outreach.

OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 650+ provider multispecialty group with an excellent opportunity for an Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist. Join a 21+ physician cardiovascular group practice integrated within Saint Alphonsus Health System delivering care to the region, including telemedicine and outreach opportunities. The Saint Alphonsus Heart Institute is an outstanding comprehensive cardiovascular program with many differentiating services including an accredited Chest Pain Center, a Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center, a Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery program, a CVOR that operated on over 500 patients last year, a growing CV Research program, dedicated Advanced Heart Failure Program, advanced EP lab with Pulsed Field Ablation, a robust structural heart program (TAVR, mTEER, tTEER, Watchman, PFO/ASD), and a dedicated prevention and lifestyle management clinic and clinic based PET/CT Scanner. Cardiologists and CT Surgeons participate with hospital administration in co-managing the cardiovascular service line.

Support: 21 APPs; 2 CT Surgeons; 3 Vascular Surgeons; Cardiac ICU; CVOR, CVICU and step‑down unit; 74 SAMG primary and specialty clinic locations; Saint Alphonsus Health Alliance network of over 1,800 employed and independent providers; Level II Trauma Center & ED.

Requirements:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree;
• Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Heart Failure Fellowship Program;
• Board certification in heart failure within 1 year of employment;
• Unrestricted, full license in Idaho and Oregon to practice medicine in all its phases;
• Obtain granting of privileges at SAMC- Boise and other health system affiliated hospitals as needed;
• Valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA.

Location: Boise Hospital (main campus)
Outreach to Nampa hospital as needed.

Status: Full Time

Schedule: Traditional M-F clinic hours

Call: General Cardiology call and Heart Failure Call varies
