Job summary

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved EKG class (or equivalent).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification.

Responsibilities

• Instructs, pre‑assesses patients for EKG tests, stress testing and/or cardiovascular monitoring devices.
• Operates EKG machines and attaches electrodes to patients to obtain readings.
• Monitors EKG equipment during tests and troubleshoots issues.
• Observes scanner screen to identify irregularities and verifies data for physician interpretation.
• Sets up and assists in exercise treadmill stress testing.
• Records and edits test results and provides preliminary reports to licensed caregivers.
• Maintains patient records in the Cardiac Information Management System (MUSE).
• Maintains stress testing and cardiovascular monitoring equipment and communicates malfunctions to service engineers.
• Provides patient care and addresses questions regarding cardiac diagnostic procedures.
• Ensures a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to discuss and verify test results.
