Job summary

Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) in Newark, OH seeks a Certified Medical Assistant for the Heart Center-Bowsher. Under RN supervision, you will assist with patient care and perform technical tasks to support providers in the heart center.

Responsibilities include patient intake/discharge, scribing, vital signs, ECGs, and assisting procedures, while maintaining confidentiality and using EMR documentation.

Qualifications

• Reads, writes, follows instructions and performs basic math.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• AAMA or AMT Medical Assistant certification preferred and must be obtained within six months of hire.
• Maintains BCLS certification.
• Proficient with computer usage and medical record documentation.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient intake and discharge under physician, NP or RN supervision and documents in the medical record.
• Scribes for providers and performs basic clinical tasks as authorized.
• Checks vital signs and performs ECGs as part of patient assessment.
• Assists providers with procedures as needed.
• Responds to emergencies promptly and supports other healthcare staff.
• Notifies Physician, NP, or RN of patient symptoms and progress; documents accordingly.
• Maintains patient, staff and corporate confidentiality per policies.
