Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (preferred).
• Proven experience conducting pure-tone audiograms and whisper tests according to regulatory standards.
• Weekend availability required.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot standard audiometers and testing equipment.
• Excellent communication with patients, veterans, families, providers and staff.
• Strong organizational skills to manage a busy caseload with quality care.

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Hearing Screening Specialist / Medical Assistant to join our dedicated healthcare team. This is a contract/part-time role starting at $23/hr, focused strictly on completing assessments and clinical and administrative tasks. You’ll serve as a specialist and medical assistant, ensuring our patients and veterans receive accurate evaluations of their auditory health.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine pure-tone, speech, and whisper screenings using standardized audiometric equipment and techniques.
• Operate audiometers and acoustic middle ear equipment to capture exact hearing thresholds and middle ear function.
• Record and transfer accurate testing data into electronic or paper reports
• Assist providers with clinical duties including measuring vital signs, checking in and checking out patients, preparing examination rooms, collecting laboratory specimens, and assisting during exams.
• Answer inbound phone calls, address patient inquiries, and route messages to appropriate staff.
• Coordinate and document patient appointments accurately within the scheduling system.
• Complete various administrative tasks for the clinic and providers.
• Provide a professional, supportive environment for patients, veterans, and their families during their visit.
