Job summary

The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians in Siletz, Oregon, seek a Healthy Traditions Project Coordinator to implement a community-based intervention using traditional foods and TEK to prevent type 2 diabetes in tribal families.

You will manage the Siletz Community garden, support Healthy Traditions activities, handle budgeting and grants, and develop partnerships and culturally informed education materials and outreach.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in General Studies.
• Two years experience in social services, nutrition, health, or related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
• Knowledge of traditional foods and TEK (Traditional Ecological Knowledge).
• Experience coordinating programs and working with tribal communities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the operations, participants, and grounds of the Siletz Community garden.
• Assist area offices staff in providing Healthy Traditions activities and services.
• Manage program budget and expenditures.
• Assist in writing and managing grant funding.
• Develop partnerships with CTSI programs to integrate traditional foods education.
• Develop cultural education materials and lesson plans for traditional foods knowledge.

Education

Associate’s Degree in General Studies
