Boston Medical Center (BMC) seeks a Healthy Planet Analyst II to own the analytics registry lifecycle from requirements to dashboards, supporting Population Health Systems Development for the health system, the ACO, and Community Connect partners.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, translate needs into registries, and ensure data quality while creating training materials. A Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of EHR/Clinical Analyst experience are required.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years’ relevant work experience as an EHR/Clinical Analyst.
  • Experience in a hospital or health system preferred.
  • SQL querying knowledge a plus.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Profile Epic Chronicles data sources and data quality.
  • Gather requirements from business and clinical stakeholders and translate into a registry/analytics solution.
  • Build registries and components (rules, metrics, groupers, dashboards).
  • Work within Epic build process (TXT and Hyperspace) and configuration tools.
  • Provide ad-hoc data analysis support to the team and external customers.
  • Act as SME for Healthy Planet and related workflows.
  • Provide day-to-day support and mentoring to end users.
  • Maintain positive relationships with peers and users.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Healthy Planet Analyst is a technology specialist that is responsible for the full analytics registry delivery cycle including requirements analysis, data profiling, component development, system configuration, report/dashboard design and quality assurance along with other related tasks as assigned. This role will focus on projects and tasks assigned to the Population Health Systems Development team at Boston Medical Center to support the patient care and analytical needs of the BMC Health System, the ACO (Accountable Care Organization), and our Community Connect partners. The role will also collaborate with multidisciplinary team members along with external customers, regulatory reporting bodies and application vendors. Must be comfortable leading development efforts, documenting the functional and technical specifications of the solution and creating training material as needed. Works independently to fulfill job duties with minimal supervision.

Essential Responsibilities / Duties
  • Profile and understand the large amounts of Epic source data in Chronicles.
  • Gather requirements from business and clinical stakeholders and translate into a registry and/or analytics solution.
  • Build registries and associated components (i.e., rules, metrics, groupers, flowsheets, BPAs, Workbench reports, Radar dashboards, etc.).
  • Work within the Epic build process (TXT and Hyperspace) and other department approved configuration tools as needed.
  • Provide ad-hoc level data analysis support to the team and external customers as needed.
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert for Healthy Planet and maintain advanced knowledge of operational workflows that are supported by the application
  • Provide day-to-day support and mentoring to end users who interact with the registries and/or any associated component.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, and take the initiative to learn new tools quickly.
  • Maintain good working relationship with peers, superiors, and application users.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.
Education
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Epic Healthy Planet and Compass Rose or EpicCare certification required
  • Epic Clarity Data Model and/or Caboodle Data Model certification a plus
  • EXPERIENCE:
  • 3-5 years’ relevant work experience as an EHR/Clinical Analyst required
  • Experience in a similar role in a hospital or health system preferred
  • SQL querying knowledge a plus
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills
  • KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Strong knowledge of Care Management and Ambulatory clinical and operational workflows required
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Knowledge of dashboard development using Tableau or similar BI platform a plus
  • Strong written communication skills, including technical writing
  • Strong verbal communication skills while interacting with team members, other members within the IT department, and non-technical end users
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems often spanning multiple environments in a business area
  • Ability to be a team player; flexible, friendly, congenial, and enthusiastic
Compensation Range

$71,500.00- $104,000.00

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
